Patient Placement
Systems Announces
2007 Customer Appreciation Award Winners
Patient Placement Systems recognizes four customers for
their commitment to excellence and incorporation of innovative
technology.
ATLANTA, GA –– August 16, 2007 – Patient Placement Systems,
a leading provider of patient referral solutions, today announced
that two continuing care service providers and two hospitals
were recognized as its customer appreciation award winners.
The four winners distinguished themselves through their commitment
to excellence and use of innovative technology to ensure their
patients have an optimal referral and transfer experience.
Patient Placement Systems connects continuing care providers,
automating the patient placement process.
"We are proud to recognize these four special companies,"
said Eric Christ, president, Patient Placement Systems. "Moving
a patient to a long-term acute care facility, a short-term
rehabilitation clinic, or another continuing care provider
typically involves a manual and challenging process. These
organizations have each demonstrated the highest standards
in incorporating methods and technology to automate and make
this process more efficient, and therefore, more satisfactory
for the patients and families involved, as well as the facilities."
"We appreciate the recognition," said Sabrina Patterson,
intake team leader, with Mid South Home Health, a Gentiva
Health Services company. "We all love the Patient Placement
Referral Network. We’re trying to get everyone else to use
it because it’s a technology that makes our lives so much
easier. We no longer have problems with faxes. If someone
says they sent you something, you can verify because it’s
a great tracking system."
Patient Placement Systems digitally connects all the parties
involved in the process of referring and transferring patients
from one facility to another. The Patient Placement Referral
Network improves information flow and communication so that
each facility has the information needed at the right time.
It links hospitals and providers using a secure, HIPAA-compliant
Web-based application making the process of placing a patient
from one facility to another more secure, effective, and timely.
Winners were recognized formally and received their awards
at recent regional awards luncheons. The four winners of the
2007 Patient Placement Customer Appreciation Awards are:
• Princeton Baptist Medical Center, acute care hospital,
Birmingham, Alabama
• Floyd Behavioral Health Center, specialty hospital, Rome,
Georgia
• Gentiva Health Services - Alabama, multi-location home health
service provider, regional headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama
• Rural/Metro Corporation, transport service provider, Bessemer,
Alabama
"We are focused on helping our patients so it’s nice to
receive an award that recognizes that effort," said Shaun
Prince, from Rural/Metro Corporation. "It’s great to find
something that makes us more efficient. A lot of time people
need to get their insurance authorized, so it’s convenient
to print it out directly from the application instead of searching
through orders. The Rural/Metro team feels that the Patient
Placement Referral Network is a wonderful program."
